Job Description

Established over 25 years ago they have always had a policy of taking on staff, prepared to work hard in return for excellent rewards.

The current requirement is for a Logistics Manager with a sound Construction knowledge. The client’s scope of operations includes major groundworks, RC frames, “structural cut and carve”, and in some schemes fit out and finishings; in all projects they aim to ensure that their client’s exacting standards are met. The projects range in size and scope from smaller enabling works packages to larger turnkey style developments up to £30m. You may be working on MOD property, so you must be able to demonstrate a traceable employment and work history. This is a new position so there is plenty of opportunity for either a long contract role on a CIS basis, or a permanent position.

The role will require a full understanding of the complexities of co-ordinating operations on large development projects where there can be mixed commercial and support buildings, demolition and temporary works, civils and highway operations all vying for craneage and access at the same time.

Location. Many of the sites are in the south-east, though it is a role that may require you to travel and lodge throughout the UK and current needs are generally outside London.

You may well have transport or technical skills and wish to put your technical knowledge to good use. This is a role that requires strong management skills, the ability to negotiate with others for limited resources and confident negotiating skills to be able to work with MOD personnel; a lively sense of humour will help.

Additionally you should be literate and numerate as you will need to be able to produce daily records of site arrivals and departures of staff, vehicles and materials as well as booking in forthcoming deliveries. You should have a positive approach to providing a high standard of Health & Safety across the sites. In return you will be well rewarded both in immediate salary and in terms of production bonuses. Only candidates who are legally entitled to live and work in the UK will be considered.
