Moving into Spring our client is starting work on 3 additional groundworks projects that will overlap in their Engineering requirements and needs an Engineer who has their own transport and is able to cover the 3 sites.

These are schemes that will run from 6 to 24 months and the contractor will consider either a freelance Engineer or a permanent appointment to supplement the clients’ own Engineers.

Reading, Basingstoke and Kingston are the site locations and the schemes are similar in that they comprise traditional groundworks starting with excavation, moving on through piling, drainage, sub-structure and in part some super-structure RC. Steel frames will be utilised for the upper stories and for the atrium display areas. The schemes are commercial comprising mixed single and multi-storey structures.

An Engineer who is capable of working with the Project Teams to provide all the site setting out information accurately and is able to stay ahead of the workforce is needed. Standard QA procedures will be in place and your duties will include maintaining the site diary, raising RFI’s, cubing up for concrete, supervising pours and generally ensuring that the sites proceed.

This is a role that requires a good level of communication and the ability to work with the Site Foremen to plan ahead.

This role is a potentially either a permanent or a long term freelance position. Only candidates who are legally permitted to live and work in the UK will be considered.
