Job Description

Site Engineer for RC Structural Cut & Carve. New build Residential project.

The Contractor is a recognised and successful company operating in London and the south-east. They have a good track record of producing the finished article on time and to budget. Turnover for 2007 is likely to exceed £150m and is continually growing.

The Project has started and the team is being assembled for a long project. This is a brownfield site and there are areas that need to be demolished and cleared, serious areas of deep excavation to provide the necessary drainage infrastructure and considerable areas of below ground construction to form single and double basements. The end use will primarily be residential.

Construction is primarily in situ concrete with some elements of pre-cast for certain items. This is a multi-storey residential development so you must be aware of the constraints and implications of working at heights and with cranes.

Reporting to a site based Project Engineer and / or Project Manager this will be an opportunity to start on a new long term project with plenty of potential. There is also a good chance to show and / or develop your managerial and programming skills and gain promotion within the project team, taking on additional duties.

Qualified ideally to tertiary level with a Civil Engineering related degree or qualification you will be able to:
• Set out, giving line and level
• Provide information to the trades on site
• Assist in monitoring Health & Safety
• Provide daily and ongoing progress reports
• Carry out QA procedures
