We are a well-established London Recruitment Consultancy, a major player in the infrastructure and property development sector, has an immediate requirement for an enthusiastic, resilient and professional Commercial Manager/Financial Controller able to play an integral role in the management team, responsible for the accounts department. Our company is on the cusp of major expansion to serve the increasing demand within the industry to deliver such projects as the 2012 Olympics, major railway and London underground initiatives, together with major commercial and retail developments within the London market.

The role entails taking ultimate responsibility of the accounts department, preparing monthly and annual financial reports with analyses, and advising on key commercial matters vital to the profitable operation of the business. You will oversee key current operations such as payroll, staff salaries, purchase ledger and credit control.
Additionally you will produce monthly business and cashflow projections; you will provide practical commercial advice where necessary and recommend changes required to improve the company's performance. You will prepare cost analyses relevant to ongoing business and identify key trends of cost versus returns. Your duties will include preparation of monthly Inland Revenue payments and quarterly VAT returns, and liaising with external parties such as financial auditors and banking organisations.
Duties to include:
Management of the accounts department
Commercial consideration of current operations
Commercial & Financial reporting to the board of directors
Ensuring effective internal controls
Credit Control, Sales & Purchase Ledger
Budgeting, analysing and maintaining operating and expense accounts
The role will evolve swiftly but initially requires candidates possessing strong commercial and financial ability including Accountancy IT and Systems experience, thus ensuring the business is compliant with all regulatory legislation and compliance relevant to the Recruitment Industry. Candidates will have experience ideally within a SME culture, possibly from recruitment or engineering/services background but more essentially have the ability to build, lead and motivate.
