A north west London Borough is looking to appoint a Town Planner to their DC section.

The Client is looking for a Senior Planning Officer and there is a degree of flexibility on the rate depending on experience. Essentially the Borough outsources the majority of its applications (householders and minors) to external consultants.

That leaves in house planners to deal with 'other' applications and applications of a more complex or sensitive nature. So the role would involve a case load of that nature (including some backlog cases).

The role is a more senior one in so far as that all the reports undertaken by the external consultants require vetting and signing off (providing second signature before it goes to senior manager for third signature and release). The role is shared between 4 officers. So in that sense there is a supervisory aspect in terms of appraising officer reports and liaising with consultants.

We are looking for a candidate who has experience of working to a senior level in a similar role, you will hold a Town Planning degree and a drivers licence.
