Job Description

One of the Olympic Borough’s in east London require a highly experienced Town Planner to join their policy department.

The role involve producing, monitoring and reviewing a comprehensive range of planning policy and guidance documents for the Borough – e.g. the Unitary Development Plan, Area Frameworks and Supplementary Planning Guidance Notes.

Progressing Environmental initiatives such as Local Agenda 21, State of the Environment Reporting and Green Corridors initiative. Joint working on corporate/community environmental projects such as the Eyesores programme.

Supporting regeneration and development initiatives with pre-application project development work and devising environmental projects for regeneration and other programmes, securing sources of funding, implementing and monitoring progress as necessary.

Preparing Framework Plans, Planning Briefs for individual sites, or working with landowners / developers on preparing Masterplans for large phased sites, as well as advising your development control colleagues on Planning Policy matters.

The ideal candidate will have similar experience in a London Borough, hold a Town Planning Degree and good written, oral and organisational skills.
