Job Description

Our client is a privately owned real estate development firm that is part of one of the leading business groups in the United Arab Emirates and we are seeking applications for the position of Design Manager to work a major urban development that is a US $5 billion mixed-use waterfront development consisting of high end residential, hospitality, offices, leisure and retail. Construction of the 1600-acre "city-within-a-city" is expected to be complete by 2012. Projects range from landmark 2.1 million square foot urban retail resort to a stunning 375 room waterside hotel that will include ultra-exclusive residential apartments. Reporting to the General Manager of Design, your job will be to effectively manage the design process and design consultants; to oversee and make successful the entire design process from pre- concept design stage through final design and for construction documentation to include the selection of designers. You will be a team manager capable of representing the firm at such a senior level. The ideal candidate will be either a chartered architect or civil engineer with proven hands on experience in design and construction. You will be familiar with design standards, building codes and local practices. Knowledge of MS Project is essential. You will be well rewarded with a comprehensive package to include salary to AED 35,000 month, accommodation allowance of up to AED 125,000 per annum, furniture allowance, insurances and a car.
