Job Description

This London Borough council is looking for an experienced Policy Planner to assist the LDF Manager in producing Local Development Documents, including: developing evidence, engaging stakeholders and the community, carrying out sustainability appraisal, and drafting Local Development documents.

There will be the opportunity to lead on projects as allocated by the LDF Manager and also:

Assist the LDF Manager in the day-to day supervision and on-the-job training of staff

Monitor the continuing relevance and implementation of planning policies

Assess the policy implications of planning applications and provide advice and guidance to more junior staff in the team

Provide support in liaising with Government, strategic and local organisations

Deputise for the LDF Manager at team, section and other meetings

This role is based in an East London Borough Council and is one of the councils that will be involved in overlooking land that will be hosting the development of the . Having recently relocated into modern facilities it's new location has fantastic transport links into Central London within a 5 minute walking distance.
