Job Description
An east London Borough have an urgent requirement for a Town Planner in their Policy section.
The main purpose of the job will be to act as the Council's Planning Obligations Officer, be responsible for managing, in all respects, the Council's Planning Obligation and Section 106 Agreement Service, advising on policy, processes and procedures for planning obligations and the like and to assist in the securing, delivery and use, to the benefit of the local community, of planning obligation contributions and the like required to mitigate the impact of development.
You will also manage projects / schemes, assisting with policy development relating to the services provided, and promote the work and services of the Directorate through effective liaison with other internal and external services and bodies.
Other duties include advising planning colleagues in the case for planning obligations necessary to address/mitigate the impact of development proposals and assisting planning colleagues with the negotiation of planning obligations. Ensure that all planning obligations sought comply with the terms of regulations, guidance and advice. Ensure consistency and transparency of process and the requests for planning obligations.
The ideal candidate will hold a Town Planning degree along with Planning Obligations or Planning Policy experience in the UK. Overseas candidates with exceptional experience from home are welcome to apply.
