Job Description
A North London Council wishes to appoint a Principal Building Surveyor for an initial three month contract.
As Principal Surveyor it will be your responsibility to manage a team of Surveyors. You will be responsible for the allocation, programming and control of the work of that team. You will also be expected to manage trainees within the team - some of whom may be doing their APC - therefore it is essential that you are RICS qualified.
You will be working on commissioned projects with values ranging from£10-500k. You will be dealing with planned maintenance works, refurbishments and DDA improvements. Other duties will include general building surveying work including measured surveys, defecting diagnosis and preparing feasibilities.
You will also be expected to act as a contract administrator; liaising with clients, specifying and preparing schedule of works, overseeing work carried out on site and instructing the contractor.
It is essential for this role that you are RICS qualified and have access to a car.
