Employment/Retail Policy Planner (Based: South Yorkshire)

Job Description

The Forward Planning team of a busy borough council require an experienced employment/retail Policy Planner to cover a secondment period of one of their Senior Planners. Ideally, they are looking for someone to commit to a 9 month period.

Responsibilities will be:

to take up the recently completed Employment Land Review and develop other parts of the evidence base for the LDF as appropriate, i.e. town centre surveys, update of Rotherham Retail Study, monitoring of retail applications and permissions
to further develop the employment section of the emerging Rotherham LDF Core Strategy in terms of amount and distribution of employment land
to draft a response to the Regional Spatial Strategy Proposed Changes economy chapter putting forward the council’s view as appropriate
to draft economic policies for the Policies DPD
to contribute to site selection work for the Allocations DPD
to comment on employment and retail related planning applications
