A London Borough is seeking a Town Planner with previous experience as Head of Development Control to manage the section for a minimum period of 3-6months. This role would be suitable for a Team Leader/Group Manager looking to make a step up into a Senior Management position.
The successful applicant will be responsible for all staff in the DC Function Unit (over 50 staff) and will be chiefly concerned with delegated decisions on planning applications having individual value of up to £10m, and an annual aggregate value of £50m.
This role will also offer the potential to deal with more hands-on matters such as negotiating with developers and other interested parties in relation to proposals, applications, appeals and enforcement matters whilst making s106 contributions and providing guidance to more junior staff.
A Town Planning Qualification for this Development Control Manager post is essential as is management experience in the UK. Non-UK experience will be considered also.
