Our client was founded in 1997 with an aim that was as clear in its simplicity as it was bold in its ambition; an aim to become a hospitality industry leader through establishing a world class portfolio of hotels. We have been instructed to recruit an architect that is passionate about design and thoughtful of the means by which she or he can communicate their requirement for design excellence.

You will participate particularly in project design assessment, from concept planning onward, in all facets of the design process, working with the appointed consultant architects, engineers, interior designers and other specialist consultants. This will require reasoned and meaningful advisory input in support of the appointed consultants, but at all times pressing for optimization of design, in accordance with operator’s requirement for design excellence. This will also extend to working with consultants in considering input on conceptual design options on potential development sites, including site assessment and the development of concept design briefs. He or she will also work with appointed consultants to ensure that they fully understand and execute within the group’s design guidelines.

You will work closely with the development team to provide support that assists in driving the strategic growth of the brand and at the same time incorporating the hospitality related development initiatives of the development partners. This will specifically involve providing architectural design services and support for acquisitions, joint ventures and management contracts, for conversions or new builds within strategic locations, in order to maximise the brand quality of the group.

The Architect will also work closely with the technical services team to ensure design quality in all aspects of design development and implementation.

You will be a skilful communicator who is proactive, persistent and results-oriented, with a responsive and flexible approach.

A Bachelor degree in Architecture is essential.

The successful candidate will preferably have a proven track record in hotel design in the luxury international market, spanning resort and corporate/business properties. Middle East experience is desirable but not essential.

You will possess strong negotiating and influencing skill, financial acumen, hotel knowledge, conceptual skill (spatial and design), a high degree of numeracy and analytical competence, and strong communication skills.
