Job Description

A major power generator in Oxfordshire wishes to employ Shift Team Leader. Duties and responsibilities are as follows:

Grade: Personal Contract

The Shift Team Leader, with a small team of Shift Operating Technicians, is responsible for operating the plant 24/7 to meet demanding commercial targets and compliance standards.

Your duties will include:

· Co-ordinate and control the operation of the plant to achieve safe, efficient generation whilst complying with prevailing legal, company and local policies and procedures.

· Prioritisation of activities to ensure maximum commercial benefit whilst managing risks

· Co-ordinate communication with internal and external customers or agencies

· Act as Safety Controller and Safety Co-ordinator

· Develop and utilise shift team skills to support station objectives

· Apply analytical skills to respond to problems logically, confidently and with minimum supervision

· Lead cross functional teams in pursuit of station development and continuous improvement

· Assist in the broader management of the station, setting policies and procedures and ensuring compliance

Candidates should have recognised Engineering (HNC) and Managerial (CMS) or equivalent qualifications and experience of power plant operations including Safety Controller. A sound understanding of the commercial environment of the power generation business is required. CCGT experience is not essential. Candidates should also possess good leadership skills and the ability to operate in a strong team based environment. These skills should be supported by the ability to demonstrate effective communication with staff at all levels.

£35000 + £9000 Shift Allowance
