Technical Director
Greater London
£50k plus car
The division currently employs 12 people, working mainly on Highways Agency and Network Rail schemes throughout the country. The division also offers geotechnical assistance to other internal offices, dealing with residential property, both low and high rise, commercial and industrial developments and environmental schemes. There is also an ongoing drive to get work in the aviation industry and British Waterways.
The professional and technical duties will include: managing the technical output of the office, ensuring the technical competence of the deliverables produced by the technical teams, assist in Business Development by maximising the opportunities from existing contacts and clients and act as project manager, designer or checker as required. The successful candidate will also have to prepare proposals and tenders relevant to the business, identify training and support needs for the division and assist the Associate Director in management of the division. The candidate must be willing to travel, within the UK, with up to 20 nights per year away from home. It is essential you have a BSc or BEng in and ideally you will have a Civils background with an MSc in Geotechnical Engineering, Soil Mechanics, and Engineering Geology preferred. You will need a minimum 12 to 15 years post graduate experience and at least 5 years post chartered. Experience of Network Rail Standards and Highways Agency Specification is essential and PTS or other rail safety qualification would be an advantage.
