SITE ENGINEERS X 2. Groundworks for commercial and residential schemes. A growing contractor has current requirements for 2 experienced Setting Out Engineers for new projects that they have recently won. Contracts typically have long term requirements of 35 to 50 weeks, with some shorter schemes and others with multiple phases. Generally working in Berkshire, Wiltshire and Oxfordshire you will generally be within 1 hour’s radius of your home.

The projects are similar in that they are residential schemes with the piling completed by others and the contractor moving on to set out for basement excavation, drainage, sub and then superstructure where appropriate. You will be conversant with current setting out equipment, especially relevant if you can use robotic equipment, be able to read and interpret drawings, being able to clearly relay and communicate this information to the site personnel.

Working a 5.5 day week, you will have worked on busy sites and will probably have a minimum of 3 years experience on similar projects to enable you to understand the sequence of events, thus planning ahead. You will be ably assisted by excellent foremen and good tradesmen.

Qualifications to tertiary level would be beneficial but are not a prerequisite to getting the job. Importance is placed on ability with the skill to be accurate and effective on site. Only candidates who are legally entitled to live and work in the UK will be considered.
