Job Description
A Berkshire based council wishes to appoint a Housing Standards Officer to join the Private Sector Housing team for an ongoing contract.
Your overall purpose will be to make a significant contribution to the improvement of housing standards for people living in private rented sector accommodation. You will be delivering an effective service to clients who make enquiries about improving their housing conditions from initial enquiry through to completion. Duties will include conducting details inspections and surveys in relation to the Housing Acts and related legislation. It will be your responsibility to appoint contractors, supervise works carried out on site, monitor budgets, and tender evaluation.
The successful candidate will have two years experience of surveying for social housing. You will have detailed knowledge of building construction and relevant legislation including Health &Safety. It is essential you have a relevant qualification and have access to a car.
