Job Description

Engineering Surveyor. Immediate requirement for a contractor working on a major project. The project is currently undergoing demolition and construction phases and we are looking for an Engineer who is prepared to either work on a freelance basis or else is eager to join a dynamic Contractor who is steadily growing year by year.

The scheme will run for 18 months, with this specific element running for 6 months, and will enable you to be involved with all aspects of the Engineering side as well as taking on managerial duties in line with your experience.

The works comprise demolition and reinstatement and you will be required to work both day and night shifts, paid accordingly, which involve excavation, groundworks and drainage, sub-structure and super-structure RC with the installation of padstones in new openings, you will be used to RC construction techniques and procedures.

We are looking for an Engineer who is capable of taking on the Site Engineer’s role, working with the Project Manager to provide all the site setting out information accurately and is able to stay ahead of the workforce. Standard QA procedures will be in place and your duties will include setting out and following up with as-builts, checking for design queries, maintaining the site diary, raising RFI’s, cubing up for concrete, supervising pours and generally ensuring that the site proceeds as smoothly and satisfactorily as possible. This is a role that requires a good level of communication and the ability to work with the Site Foremen to plan ahead.

Good rates of pay with hours to match are available. Preferably Degree or Tertiary level educated in a Civil Engineering or Construction related discipline, ideally CSCS qualified. Only candidates who are legally entitled to live and work in the UK will be considered.
