SITE ENGINEER –CIVILS. Working for a medium sized Civils & Groundworks contractor this is a position that would suit an energetic and committed Site Engineer with at least 2 – 3 years experience or a very astute Graduate who has had previous site Engineering experience, seeking to progress his career, where there is an opportunity to have a degree of responsibility.

The project is based in Central London and is readily accessible by public transport.

The work involves extensive excavation to form a deep basement with associated temporary works, temporary and permanent drainage and is in the medium sized civils end of the market. Working with GPS or conventional equipment you will need to be fit as this is a large site and the work will entail moving about the site to stay ahead of the subcontractors. The project runs for 3 – 4 months.

CSCS certification is mandatory. You will have a recognised Engineering or Construction related qualification to a tertiary level. Possession of a First Aid certificate is optional.

Experience with either a main contractor or a sub-contractor will be equally relevant. So long as you have a good understanding of what is involved in the civils elements of construction. A good working knowledge of CAD would be a help, a more senior candidate may suit so long as you possess the minimum skills listed.

The hours will probably be based on a 6 day working week, and additional weekend work may be required in certain situations. This option is open for a freelancer though a candidate ultimately seeking a permanent role would also be considered. You must be permitted to live and work in the UK to apply for this job.
