The following are key requirements for this role:

• Basic structural design capabilities (in steel, concrete and timber-frame construction).
  
• Ability to conduct basic site engineering for small to medium sized housing schemes.
  
• Good working knowledge of current Planning & Building Regulation requirements
  Software Requirements: Microsoft office (mainly Word & Excel use), AutoCAD, SCALE, Fastrak Simple Beam Design (or other similar type basic structural analysis package), photo editing software.
  
• Degree qualified, with a minimum of 4 years experience, with a view to taking up middle management duties.

Your responsibilities entail design of steel and timber-frame structures. You will also be involved in:

• Site investigations (from open/poured foundations to interim inspections and certification)
  
• Setting out/surveying & mapping works (generally at a fairly rudimentary level)
  
• Percolation tests
  
• Liaising with Local Authorities (planning application matters, etc.)
  
• Valuation reports (for financial lending institutions)

If you require a work permit for Republic of Ireland, you need to have a tertiary qualification in the related discipline.
