Job Description:
Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Senior CAD Technician/Team Leader to provide support to their Civils CAD Team specialising primarily with the Structures & Bridge Teams as well as Track Engineering & Electrification Teams based at their Croydon office. Reporting to the Discipline Engineering Team Managers the successful candidate will support and assist the design teams in the production of Microstation & AutoCAD drawings for a range of schemes including new build, reconstruction, strengthening, refurbishment and maintenance of railway structures/buildings/depots. In addition you will be responsible for leading the CAD Team (currently 6 staff but increasing to 11 in the next few months) with respect to system configuration, implementation of CAD standards and where necessary updating and/or altering to suit, act as the CAD business champion, promote best practice and oversee the training & development of the CAD Team.
Person Specification:
Substantial knowledge of Microstation/AutoCAD within a bridge design /structures environments Demonstrable history of detailing reinforced concrete structures Ability to interpret structural engineering calculations and produce steel reinforcement detailing to latest codes/standards Minimum HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) Must be able to communicate effectively, both oral and written Ability to work to personally set deadlines and manage own time effectively in a customer focused environment Team player
