Senior/ Principal Electrical engineer

Company:
This well established ME consultancy is based in a market town in Essex, on the mainline train line into town. Their self contained offices have dedicated parking facilities, are close to all main transport networks and are equipped with the technology to allow staff to work flexibly and efficiently.
The company offers consultancy in all aspects of building services design including: electrical, mechanical and public health engineering. They work for a wide range of clients with projects including landmark residential schemes, churches, resilient power, hotels, leisure centres, offices and university buildings.

Role:
You will initially be responsible for delivering electrical engineering design for a wide variety of technical projects on both new build and refurbishment developments. The scope of the design will encompass the full life cycle of the project and all aspects of electrical building services design i.e. You should be able to take projects from a blank sheet of paper to completion and help the management team take the company to the next level. The company are hoping that once you have got to grip with the current workload you will look to grow a team around you and if possible be running an electrical division in the next few years!! This role would ideally suit a candidate that is looking to take on more responsibility or who feels trapped within the confines of a larger consultancy and wants to stamp their own mark on the electrical engineering consultancy market.

Qualifications:
You will be ideally educated to degree level or equivalent and if you have a post graduate qualifications or chartership it would be extremely beneficial. However if you do have many year's experience in electrical design then please still apply. A knowledge of Hevacomp or other electrical design systems is highly desirable. The company is also keen to keep you moving in your career and professional development and as such would actively encourage you to go on relevant training courses.

Person specification:
The company atmosphere is hardworking but relaxed and therefore would suit someone that is dedicated to providing a professional level of service but has a work-life balance. You will need to be confident and interested in heading into management in the next few years, although the role could be purely technical in that need be. It is expected that currently you will be in a senior or principal electrical engineering role and want to make the step up, although it would suit a more senior level candidate that would like to build an electrical division at a new company
