Role

Supporting the Team Leader Policy and Planning in the development, implementation and continuous review of planning, land use, environmental and conservation policies, strategies, projects and plans, including:

• The UDP and supplementary planning guidance and strategies, Neighbourhood.
• Development Plans and Agenda 21/environmental policy.
  
• Policy support to Development Control.
  
• Planning briefs for major site developments and monitoring section 106 agreements.
  
• Ensuring pro-active site assembly, including the development of area planning strategies and planning briefs and instigation of Compulsory Purchase Orders as appropriate.
  
• Designation and review of Conservation Areas.
  
• Listed buildings.
  
• Responding to national, regional and local planning issues, including new government guidance, the London Plan and consultations with adjoining boroughs.
  
• Developing effective and responsive consultation strategies on the range of the Teams work and participating in or leading on consultative exercises with residents, businesses and community groups.
  
• To play an active part in the day-to-day activities of the team, including general administration and correspondence.

  Requirements

  • Applicants should hold a degree.
    
  • An interest in the planning matters and a basic understanding of the role and function of planning policy development and project management.
    
  • Ability to organise own workload and work under pressure, maintaining high quality and output and achieving set deadlines and targets.
    
  • The ability to use information technology (word processing, spread sheet and database applications) or the aptitude and willingness to learn.
