Job Description

A popular south London Borough is looking for a planner to join the urban design and conservation section.

The role will involve taking a leading role in providing a high quality, customer focused service by providing urban design advice on planning applications, major development and public realm projects and planning policy, and by making a significant positive contribution toward developing an urban design function within the Conservation and Urban Design Team.

You will be responsible for appointing and managing the work of urban design consultants commissioning for projects and managing major development projects, such as the South Bank and other regeneration programmes.

To contribute to developing urban design policies for the Unitary Development Plan, local development frameworks and supplementary planning guidance.

The successful candidate will have a Town Planning or Urban Design degree, have previous Urban Design experience in a similar role and have thorough up to date knowledge of all relevant planning legislation, policies and procedures.
