Job Description

We are looking for a strong Quantity Surveyor to work on a large and prestigious contract for this well-known and respected sub-contractor engaged in architectural metalwork and structural steel.

With a large project valued at c £30 million over 4 years there will be plenty to keep a commercial and contractually aware Quantity Surveyor busy. You will be tasked with all the financial responsibilities, which include the preparation and agreement of: monthly interim payment arrangements and post contract and final accounts and final payments to sub-contractors while first ensuring complete clearance of all defects.

Duties will include making monthly forecasts and monthly reports to the company finance director as required and to monitor the cost and profitability of all ongoing contracts.

You will be expected to advise the directors of the company of all known risks in any project proposals, take steps where necessary to minimise all exposure to risk by utilisation of third party professional advice, insurance and such like.

Ideally you will have a relevant qualification or experience gained working for sub-contractors and be able to work as part of a team, liaising and co-operating with all directors and office staff, contract managers and site supervisors, personnel and sub contractors to ensure excellence in communication and in all outcomes connected with the company.
