We have an opportunity for an Area Building Surveyor based in Swindon with extensive travel till the end of October 2007.
You will be carrying out the duties of Area Building Surveyor for Network Rail’s Great Western building assets comprising some 385 Stations and 3000 Lineside buildings in the South West region, as directed by the Building Engineer.
Duties will include the day-to-day management of reactive and planned maintenance, raising orders and remits for the remediation of work, identification of work for the inclusion in the forward work bank and the liaison with the Account Surveyors and Estates Surveyors.
You will be located at Swindon HQ within the Building Management Team. However, it will be expected that you will travel extensively throughout the Territory and Routes in order to carry out duties effectively. A minimum qualification of HNC in Building Studies and be a Member of a recognised construction industry professional institution.
In order to carry out their duties you will need to hold PTS and IWA qualifications. A site safety qualification is essential. The incumbent should have at least one year’s experience of working in the rail industry.
