Job Description

A Development Control Officer is required for a local government authority in central London. This role would suit someone with experience in processing and assessing planning consent applications at a local Government level.

A minimum of 12 months post qualification experience of working in a similar role and a relevant degree is required. This is a good opportunity to build on experience in an easily accessible borough of London. This position would suit a planner looking to establish themselves in London having moved from a similar planning environment in Australia.

The role offers a wide variety of opportunities within a good team and the chance to establish a thorough working knowledge of the UK town planning system.

Responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of town planning and subdivision of land applications for clients ranging from small developers to multinationals in residential, commercial and industrial markets
• Written and verbal planning advice to internal departments and the general public on a wide variety of issues
This position offers an excellent grounding in London planning which provides a stepping stone to more diverse and challenging positions.
