Job Description

Design & Build Planner for Established Contractor. Required for the construction division of this successful and established London based engineering contractor. A Design & Build Planner, ideally from an Engineering background, is needed to join their planning department. Established over 25 years ago with a bulging order book, ongoing work is assured. Schemes underway will require monitoring from a planning perspective, however the emphasis will be on new projects in the £20 to £50m plus range.

Projects are primarily residential in multi-storey schemes. We require an experienced individual able to take on the Planner / Programmer role. You will probably come from an Engineering or Project Management background, ideally having worked for contractors in the London market, with previous planning experience an advantage, but not essential.
Drafting effective programmes of work in conjunction with the Project Team and the Estimating department, these programmes will form the basis of successful bids and will be reviewed post contract award and monitored once work starts on site.
Project managers will take daily control, once the project commences, whilst your role will be to review the programmes on an ongoing basis, with the site based team, reporting to the Construction Director. The requirement is that you will also form part of the bid team, working closely with the estimating team through the bid stage.

Expectations on salary will be met and surpassed for the right individual who can clearly demonstrate enthusiasm, commitment and a desire to succeed. Exposure to civils & construction in a planning and programming remit with RC knowledge would be advantageous but not essential, however a comprehensive IT knowledge would be expected. The post is Head office based. Only candidates who are legally entitled to live and work in the UK will be considered.
