This market leading consultancy requires a civil / structural design engineer to work on major new build nuclear facilities in support of the multi-billion pound UK nuclear decommissioning and clean-up programme. The candidate will work as part of a small, recently established team of civil / structural engineers and technicians based within our existing Bristol Office and supported by our established team of 50 engineers and technicians based at our Warrington Office.

As part of this team, we are looking for a civil / structural design engineer to undertake a 12 month placement on a Nuclear Site, supervising the construction of a temporary waste handling facility which is required as part of the ongoing decommissioning work on the site. Typically, the site work will involve the construction of piled foundations, substantial reinforced concrete cell structures, a structural steelwork overbuilding and the installation of major items of mechanical plant.

The role would suit a graduate engineer from a consultancy background with experience of structural steelwork and reinforced concrete design and who is looking to complement this with site experience as part of their continuing professional development. Previous experience within the nuclear or other regulated industries would be beneficial but is not essential.
