Job Description

Externals Manager. To work on a major brownfield re-development site in west London. An immediate requirement to join the team, reporting to the Project Manager on this high profile scheme for one on the UK’s foremost developers.

The Project. This is a major mixed use re-generation project that will see the construction of a luxury hotel, an apart-hotel, over 500 residential units for private and affordable housing, retail and commercial units, fitness centre, restaurant and bars. The entire complex will be set within landscaped gardens and squares. Travel links by rail to central London and the UK rail network are nearby as well as convenient travel routes for Heathrow airport.

The Role. In a project of this nature there are a large number of structures ranging from the hotel and residential blocks to planters and upstands. In every case waterproofing is critical and you will be in charge of all elements of sealing and waterproofing. Your experience will have come from hands on experience working for one of the trade contractors specialising in waterproofing or from co-ordinating activities of subcontractors and / or direct labour force on a large scale scheme. With a large number of consecutive operations to be watched over and co-ordinated, at any one time, you will need to “be on the ball”. Once the waterproofing is complete you would move onto a structures managerial role.

Background. Experience in the construction industry is essential as is a current CSCS certificate, Appointed Person and First Aid tickets are desirable. You will need to have good oral and written communication skills and be prepared to work a 6 day week on construction hours. You must be legally entitled to live and work in the UK to be considered for the post.

Salary. A package that includes a good basic of £40 to £45,000 plus the usual benefits associated with a PAYE post for a reputable employer is on offer.
