An excellent opportunity for a town planner to provide high quality specialised development control services, managing major projects and assisting with policy development relating to the services provided.

Candidate Profile
 Development control experience
 Experience of effective consultation techniques
 Eligible for chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute and/or other professional qualification
 Detailed knowledge of relevant Town Planning legislation, practice and government guidance
 Knowledge and familiarity with communication and consultation techniques
 Commitment to keep up to date with professional knowledge, expertise and best practice
 Good IT skills
 Able to own on own initiative and as a member of a team
 Able to draft reports and documents in a clear and concise manner
 Good written and verbal presentation and communication skills
 Well developed negotiating and advocacy skills
 Able to work well in a pressurised and sometimes difficult environment
 Experience of responding to changing priorities, meeting deadlines and maintain high quality services
 A high level of analytical, verbal and numeric reasoning skills
 Undertake unaccompanied site visits as appropriate
 May be required to work outside normal office hours to attend Committees and/or other meetings
