Senior Traffic Engineer in London, Perm
One of the world's fastest-growing design, engineering and management consultancies are looking for a Senior Traffic Engineer to join their specialist team in London offices. Recently having won the 2007 CTBUH award for The Hearst Tower and Beetham Hilton Tower as the best sustainable tall building and the best tall building respectively.
You will be joining a specialist team of Traffic Engineers within the London office that provides traffic signal design and related services to a range of clients including Local Authorities and the Highways Agency. Seeking to expand the Traffic team to serve a growing workload and facilitate further expansion while further enhancing our reputation for quality.
You will be required to:
· Form part of one of the traffic design teams specialising in either:
1. Feasibility studies and the development of a variety of proposals associated with safety or sustainable traffic and transport schemes. These schemes will include significant levels of interaction with the public and special interest groups.
2. Design teams responsible for taking feasibility designs through initial and detailed design and on to completion.
Main responsibilities will be:
· Undertake self-managed work as part of a small and flexible team in the development and delivery of transport improvement schemes
· Undertake design activities in accordance with national and local design standards
· Undertake computer-assisted design (CAD) and data analysis activities
· Produce reports and documents for sub-contractors
· Liaison with the client
Ideally you will have:
· In depth knowledge and experience of design and analysis of traffic signal junctions and networks.
· Substantial experience of AutoCAD and KeySignals, Knowledge of SCOOT UTC, VISSIM, microsimulation TRANSYT and LINSIG.
· Good communication skills including ability to deal with clients and attend client meetings and produce reports and technical notes.
· Able to work to tight deadlines and manage workload.
· A relevant degree in Civil Engineer or equivalent professional qualification is desirable.
