Job Description

Architectural Technician is required to join a housing association in Hertfordshire. You will assist in the provision of a full range of architectural design services, including new build, adaptation, improvement and refurbishment projects and joint partnership projects with external organisations. You will also be required to carry out site visits with occupational therapists, health visitors and other agencies or individuals, as appropriate to assess the feasibility of adaptations as well as preparing final scheme designs and detailed drawings for tendering purposes, including submitting, amending and negotiating planning and building regulations applications to achieve approval, presenting scheme designs at committee/working parties as required and consulting and liaising with other statutory authorities i.e. fire service, police, licensing authority etc. This is a very hands on role and there are various other aspects to the position including financial responsibilities such as ensuring that all expenditure on projects undertaken are continually monitored against approved budgets and that cost limits are not exceeded without prior approval. This challenging role would suit an individual with strong organisational and communication skills, someone that works well under pressure in a busy environment and enjoys multi tasking.
