Job Description

This Central London Local Authority requires a strong Team Leader to lead, motivate, develop and manage staff in the Development Control Planning Enforcement Team to ensure the delivery of the planning enforcement service in accordance with Planning Statutes together with the Council’s policies, priorities and procedures, to include: to:

1. Assist the Team Manager to provide leadership, technical advice and support, set standards and priorities and organise the effective distribution of work within the Team.
2. Motivate, support, train and develop staff within the planning enforcement section to maximise their effectiveness and job satisfaction.
3. Keep Team members informed and involved, through Team briefings and other appropriate means, of matters directly concerned with their current work and issues of a more general nature as advised by Senior Management.

4. Process major/complex individual planning applications including the preparation of committee and other reports, letters and appeal statements and attendance at any public inquiry or informal hearing as the Council's planning witness.
