Job Description

The Setting Out Leader will have overall day to day management of setting out engineers.

You will be responsible for:
• Setting out services and structures
• Control of all surveying equipment
• Managing and co-ordinating sub-contractor personnel on site
• Inspecting quality of finished works
• Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with drawings and specifications
• Compliance with programme
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, sub-contractors, suppliers and design team
• Management ability to plan and co-ordinate works
• Must be able to deal effectively with everyday design issues on site
• Must be able to adhere to building programs
• Must be accustomed to and willing to maintain records on projects

You will:
• Have a methodical approach to design and planning
• Be able to produce accurate plans and drawings
• Be able to work in and lead a team
• Have good communication skills
• Motivated and creative

Experience/Knowledge:
• Qualified and expert in modern Survey equipment desired
o Robotic Electronic Total Station
o GPS
o Laser Levels and Automatic Levels
• Conducting Topographical Surveys from initial survey to office based processing and drawing production
• Establishing control using ETS or GPS
• Experienced in GPS Static, Rapid Static and RTK methods
• Designing horizontal and vertical alignments and drainage schemes
• Computing earthwork and construction material quantities
• Good working knowledge of Leica Survey Software (Liscad SEE and CAD)
• Hands on approach to the commercial and planning aspects of the project
• Experience of bridge design and build projects
• Expertise in the design of major steel and concrete structures including cable-stayed
• Experience of the operation and maintenance of earth-works, drainage or paving
• Capable of running projects from conception to completion
