One of the leading Consultancies in Transportation and Infrastructure design is seeking an Assistant Engineer to join their vibrant team in Surrey. Recently joined Royal Haskoning to enhance their service to clients whilst building on their excellent reputation, this is an ambitious position to start your career within Highways.

The role is to work within one of the two busy design teams within the Design Section providing support for the senior team members working on a wide and varied range of highway and infrastructure engineering projects, both large and small, from the detailed design stage through to construction stage

Candidates should possess a good technical knowledge of Highway and Drainage Engineering and be capable of producing engineering drawings using AutoCAD and associated packages. A familiarity with MX (Moss) computer design software would be an advantage.

A working knowledge of the relevant Highway Design Standards (Volume 6 of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges), Traffic Signs Regulations (TSRGD) and Local Authority Design Guides is ideal. The candidate will be expected to interpret instructions from senior colleagues to produce drawings and specifications for submission to our Client's and Local Authorities for approval.

The successful candidate will be offered the opportunity to manage development related projects. Priding in having a vibrant work ethic with all members of the Team contributing and assisting to deliver projects to meet Client's often demanding timescales and within budget.

The candidate should have good communication skills and some experience in site supervision appropriate to the position will be an advantage.

The position whilst primarily office based will also involve attending external meetings and visiting sites throughout the South and West of England and a Drivers Licence is therefore essential.
