Job Description

Site Engineer - Excavation. Going into 2008 this busy Contractor is starting work on additional projects and has a specific job that will require extra engineering input immediately with further Engineers from January onwards. This scheme will run for 9 months plus and freelance Engineers will be used for the duration to supplement the clients own Engineers.

Central London. The scheme’s requirements are that it comprises traditional groundworks starting with demolition followed by excavation, moving on through piling to form a coffer dam, pouring a capping beam and then using “top down construction� before moving on to drainage, sub-structure and super-structure RC. Steel frames may be utilised for the upper stories and for the atrium / mezzanine areas. The scheme’s end use is commercial at the upper levels comprising multi-storey structures, with retail on the ground and lower floors.

We are looking for an Engineer who is capable of working with the Project Engineer to provide all the site setting out information accurately and is able to stay ahead of the workforce. Standard QA procedures will be in place and your duties will include maintaining the site diary, raising RFI’s, cubing up for concrete, supervising pours and generally ensuring that the site proceeds.

This is a role that requires a good level of oral and written communication and the ability to work with the Site Foreman to plan ahead. You will need to be able to keep a clear head in what promises to be a busy site.

Good rates of pay with hours to match are available. You will need to be CSCS carded. Only candidates permitted to legally live and work in the UK will be considered.
