Job Description

Setting Out Engineer with experience in refurbishment for a central London site. Established groundworks & RC contractor is working on a Residential refurbishment for a volume house builder.

The site is located in central London within easy reach from the tube network.

The project has a structural completion date of April 2008, so there is a run of work of some 4-5 months available for an Engineer who has the requisite experience in “structural cut and carve” where the façade and shell are retained, whilst the interior is heavily modified.

Working closely with the Site Manager you will be expected to provide adequate setting out information to enable the project to steadily proceed. Due to the nature of this type of work you will be required to liaise closely with the main contractor.

An Engineering background and training, with probably some 3 – 5 years site experience is likely to be required to be able to handle this role. Sound verbal and written communication is essential. Setting out will not be too taxing as much of it will be by tape and laser level.

This is a good opportunity for a freelancer to stay under cover for a few months. Only applicants who are already legally entitled to live and work in the UK will be considered
