Job Description

Site Engineer – Groundworks & RC. New build project with a 15 month programme at central London. Double depth basement, then up to 12 storeys above ground, new build project involving excavation, waterproofing, sub and superstructure RC, this will be a challenging role in substructure construction.

Main Contractor. Requirement for an Engineer for this new build project with considerable Groundworks and associated extensive external works.

The Contractor specialises in Substructure, Superstructure, Basements and Infrastructure Works, working mainly in London and the south-east. Turnover is currently around £120 million. The labour force is directly employed and is trained to meet the requirements of their strict Health & Safety policy.

The Role will suit an experienced Site Engineer who is capable of taking a leading role in the Engineering elements of the Project. Reporting to a site based Project Manager, who has an Engineering background, this is very much a team operation and you will be required to provide the main setting out, in your section, with other directly employed Engineers running adjacent sections. Additionally you must be able to keep good daily records so clear writing is necessary, so you must be IT literate, whilst good oral and written communication is essential.

The Contractor has a strong reputation for innovative working methods in the concrete sector, of particular note are the following:
• Precast/in-situ hybrid solutions that can provide the benefits of precast quality finished works and enhanced outputs, with the stability of in-situ frames.
• A Bespoke Walling System has been developed and successfully used to construct in aggressive ground conditions, provide watertight construction and as a solution for modular structures such as hotels and residential developments.
