Job Description
Junior Planner for a successful Developer / Contractor. Progressing into 2008 with a number of projects currently in progress ranging from £150m to £400m, in the commercial, residential and leisure sectors; they have further projects in the pipeline at various stages in the conception and planning procedure.
The position would suit a Junior Planner who is keen to develop their current skills and is able to adapt to a fast moving and demanding environment. You would be fully conversant with current planning packages and programmes, including Primavera, able to take existing information and insert this into programmes, capable of working under a Construction Director or Contracts Manager who would supply the basic information with the expectation that you would have the initiative to learn at an early stage what information is required, missing, available, relevant and accurate.
The Project is a substantial new build development in the Docklands area incorporating Residential, Leisure and Retail facilities.
Your future position would be to either remain at Head Office working on the concept and initial planning of projects, incorporating amendments, variations, additions and deletions or to start at once on site. Your location and availability will influence the location. With time you would take projects through in entirety and be expected to train other planners.
Rewards will come both in a competitive salary of £30 to 35,000 plus package and incentives, moving on into management responsibilities and the salary that this role would attract.
Your background could encompass a number of skills. Ideally Degree qualified or with some form of tertiary qualification, with at least one year’s working experience in the UK, either for a main contractor or a developer with construction orientation, you will be keen to develop your career. Applicants from a Civil Engineering background, Construction Management or Quantity Surveying training would all be considered. You must be legally entitled to live and work in the UK to be considered for this post.
