Assistant / Intermediate Quantity Surveyor

With projects throughout the London area this head office based poison is located in the Dartford area. This position is ideal for applicants looking to pursue the profession of Quantity Surveying. Within a company that will nurture career progression, this rewarding position fulfils a crucial role within this experienced commercial team.

Duties performed in this role will include:
- Produce monthly valuations and measure / agree additional works and final account.
- Recognise extras, to present a case and to resolve contractual issues.
- May have a number of sites to look after.
- Prepare and to monitor budgets.
- Manage Sub-Contract accounts and to process monthly payments.
- Interpret construction drawings, take off quantities and produce a Bill of Quantities.
- Offer advice to the site team when making decisions.

Desired knowledge/experience:
- Preferably qualified to degree level
- Recognise the inter-dependency of all the Contract Documents and be able to highlight discrepancies.
- Knowledge of different methods of construction and familiarity with terminology.
- Computer literate especially Microsoft Word / Excel / Project.
- On-site experience in hard landscaping / paving and minor civil engineering works is preferably.
- Familiar with all forms of Contract especially NEC (all options) and NEC Sub-Contract.
- Experience of all forms of Method of Measurement.

Person Specification:
- Able to work on independently and as part of a small team.
- Willing to take responsibility.
- Clean driving licence and must be completely mobile

In some instances day release can be arranged for someone studying towards qualifications.
