Personality Disorder Service, Clinical Consultant Psychologist
4 years experience since qualifying; preferably with forensic experience/not essential

The post holder will provide a Clinical Psychology service to patients referred to the River Lane Unit through; assessment, treatment, consultancy, supervision, training, and research activities. provide leadership and supervision for designated clinical psychology staff and other staff as agreed. contribute to the design, implementation and evaluation of the clinical programme.

This means that there is an expectation that all staff will treat patients, visitors and colleagues as individuals and with respect and dignity at all times. The ………. Personality Disorder Services acknowledge the principles laid out in ‘Personality Disorder: No Longer a Diagnosis of Exclusion' and ‘The Personality Disorder Capabilities Framework'. All staff will be expected to help break the cycle of rejection by providing validating interactions, maintaining constructive therapeutic relationships and by engaging in self-reflective practice.

Through collaboration with other disciplines, develops and delivers clinical services to patients in order to maintain, promote and re-establish psychological adjustment, and to reduce the risk of re-offending or psychological relapse.
Contributes to the admission pre-assessment of patients referred to the Personality Disorder Service.
Provides a full clinical assessment of patients admitted including clinical formulation, risk assessment, functional analysis of offending behaviour and personality disorder diagnosis.
Takes a lead role in providing risk management plans and case managing individual psychological treatment plans.
Contributes to individual and group treatment programme and provides oversight and direction for the cognitive-interpersonal elements.
