Job Description

Part time, Clinical Psychologist -sessional, Post is Flexible 1 or 2 days a week.
To provide and develop a Clinical Psychology service to children & young people cared for by in its homes in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

To provide a Clinical Psychology service in the context of a multi-professional team.
To provide specialised psychological assessment and therapeutic interventions for children with complex needs who are receiving our services.
To liaise with, advise, and offer consultation and support to residential care staff, field social work staff and other professional colleagues in relation to psychological assessment and therapeutic interventions for individual children.

To provide specialist psychologist assessments of children receiving our services and to formulate and implement treatment/care plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of their mental health needs.
To implement a range of psychological interventions for children in liaison with residential staff, families and other relevant professionals working with the children.
To provide specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to residential staff, families and other professionals contributing directly to the child’s treatment/care plan.
To contribute to risk assessment and risk management processes including the formulation of Individual Crisis Management Plans (ICMPs) for individual children and to provide both general and specialist advice for other professionals on psychological aspects of risk assessment and management.
To act as a therapeutic lead, where agreed, ensuring the provision of a therapeutic care package appropriate for the child needs.
