A global firm of designers, engineers, planners and business consultants is looking for a contract Senior Building Services Design Engineer to join their building services design team in Central London. This consultancy prides itself in providing an innovative and fully-integrated approach to any given design problem. Turn over has almost doubled from £274.7M in 1999/2000 to £572.4M in 2006/2007, which shows a company that is growing at a phenomenal rate. They have been involved in projects ranging from the Sydney Opera House to the Gherkin and have at any given time more than 10000 projects running concurrently around the world.
As a Senior Building Services Design Engineer you will be:
• Producing electrical and/mechanical designs for a wide range of projects.
• This might include cable sizing, cable tray sizing, boilers, HVAC, lighting, fire alarms, load calculations and much more.
• Conducting client, design and management meetings.
• Liasing with architects, contractors, sub-contractors and other Electrical and Mechanical Design Engineers.
To be successful as a Senior Mechanical or Electrical Design Engineer, the following personal traits would be advantageous:
• Strong technical knowledge of Amtech, Cymap and/or DIALUX as well as an understanding of AutoCAD
• Take pride in providing high quality work on time
• Strong client facing skills and the ability to keep clients happy so as to attract future/repeat business
• Supervisory/management skills
