A conveniently located multi-disciplined consultancy with offices in the centre of London and Southern Essex, are looking for Senior Mechanical and Electrical Design Engineers to join their in-house building services design team. As a proven market leader with an annual turnover of over £114 million this company primarily provides property services in the form of management, maintenance, procurement, design, construction and insurance. As a Senior M ... E Design engineer you will be liasing and producing designs for a diverse range of clients in private and public organisations, across both the commercial and residential sectors.

The successful candidate will be working either in a team of 6 M ... E Design Engineers in London and up to 18 people in Essex. You will be dealing with a large variety of projects such as high class residential, commercial fit-outs, medical and industrial warehouses. As a Building Services Design Engineer you will be responsible:

• To undertake the detailed design of engineering building services, following initial discussion of outline scheme with design team manager within agreed deadlines
• Establish the design concepts with the team and produce concept/feasibility reports
• To calculate and design the layouts of the mechanical engineering services, which include heating installations, ventilation systems, comfort cooling/air conditioning Installations as appropriate, mains cold water systems and distribution, domestic hot and cold water installations and distribution, HVAC control systems
• Preparation of draft scheme layout drawings suitable for CAD operator to work up into final layout drawings
• Checking of drawings to ensure that they are up to the required standard before issue
• Report to the Client any variance between the works constructed and the design intent

To be successful as a Senior Building Services Design Engineer will be expected to have a minimum of 4 years relevant experience in either mechanical or electrical building services design. My client understands the current industry climate and will consider both permanent and contract candidates and will pay very competitive salaries/rates depending on experience and skills.
