We have a great opportunity for a geotechnical engineer to join an international consultancy employing 6000 at their office in Hampshire. They offer integrated professional services in the transportation, property, environment and natural resources sectors.

Their geotechnical specialists undertake commissions for many outside bodies such as government departments, local authorities, financial institutions, other consulting engineers, contracting and commercial organisations, and private individuals. Projects range from a foundation assessment for a single building to the geotechnical aspects of major projects such as new towns, highways, prestigious structures, airports and bridges.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a recently qualified professional to join one of our client's fastest growing practice areas. The jobholder will be required to undertake geotechnical design for a wide range of projects and to mentor other members of the team. The role also involves concept, preliminary and detailed geotechnical design; retaining wall and FE/FD analysis; and interpretative reporting.

About You

As a geotechnical engineer you will be expected to have a BSc/BEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and MICE. In addition, you will also be able to analyse date and undertake foundation, retaining wall, earthworks and other types of geotechnical analysis; be familiar with industry standard geotechnical software including finite element and/or finite difference programs; have knowledge of the derivation of geotechnical parameters required for above analyses; and be familiar with site investigation techniques.
