Job Description
Our client has over 50 strong contaminated land group across the UK with one of the largest and most successful teams based in Scotland.
With revenues approaching $8 billion and over 42,000 employees across the globe we're continuing to grow our business every year.
We are looking for an experienced Contaminated Land specialist to join our expanding team based in Edinburgh to continue our focus on building relationships and delighting our clients. The position would report to the Technical Director responsible for leading the Edinburgh team.
The role would involve managing and providing technical support to a range of contaminated land projects for both public and private sector clients, including Part IIA work for local authorities and development projects. Public sector projects we are currently involved include implementation of remedial works, including gas venting systems and bioremediation, for a number of sites required either under Part IIA or to support development. We also provide technical support to other parts of Jacobs, including development projects managed by the Structural, Transport and Infrastructure teams. These include high profile projects such as the Upper Forth Crossing at Kincardine.
We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate an established track record of successfully undertaking contaminated land projects within a consultancy or client environment. You will have a relevant degree in geology, chemistry, environmental science or engineering and ideally a relevant MSc, such as hydrogeology or environmental engineering. You will be highly motivated with excellent project management skills and an eye for technical detail. The role will involve frequent liaison with clients and regulators therefore strong communication and negotiating skills are essential.
