Job Description

Senior & Site Engineers – Civils & RC. Cambridge. The company is an established Irish owned, London based, contractor with a turnover exceeding £40m and growing within a controlled framework. With projects in the Home Counties, within and around the M25 and the south-east, they have a current requirement for experienced Senior & Site Engineers to take on new Civils projects that they have won in the Cambridge area, where they are targeting expansion.

The scope of works includes all site enabling, preparation and remediation works, preparation of piling mats, piling, groundbeams, groundworks and drainage, then the preparation of large areas for parking and hard standings. The projects are commercial ones and substantial amounts of RC sub and super structure elements will also be included in the overall schemes.

An engineering background, formal training and qualifications, approximately 3 - 5 years relevant site experience, working for either an RC frame contractor, a main contractor who controls the construction process, an acknowledged Groundworks contractor or a builder / developer, will give you the necessary skills to handle this type of work. Experience in having worked on projects exceeding £1 - 3m is preferred

The Company is working on projects from £500k to £12m and is looking for Engineers who are able to take on the responsibility and challenges that go with a busy site, and have the initiative to think ahead and forward plan with the Project Manager. You must be fully IT literate, well versed in current Health & Safety legislation, able to help programme projects, whilst keeping a keen eye on the commercial aspects.

The Location of these projects would suit applicants living within a 40 mile radius of Cambridge. However candidates who are interested in this role but in alternative locations are also invited to apply.

You will ideally have formal qualifications, at least 3 to 5 years relevant site experience, preferably working for a contractor, relevant CITB site management and CSCS certification and good references from previous employers. You must be able to read drawings and set out accurately with current Engineering and Survey equipment.
