Job Description

Candidates must have a proven record of working to water industry design and quality standards. The role will involve ensuring that the project meets the clients objectives and requirements and to act as a client contact for project delivery if required. You will be required to ensure that the technical content of all work carried out is correct and carried out in accordance within agreed timescales and within agreed budgets. You will be able to take on significant elements of the detailed design personally, providing technical guidance and training to junior staff and to assist, where practicable, in the mentoring and development of staff. The ideal candidate will be capable of working on their own initiative, with minimal supervision with the ability to work in close collaboration with team members of other disciplines and have an appreciation of their role. It will be necessary to participate in the preparation of proposals/bids as required including estimating timescales and costs for proposed works and as a result contribute to the profitability of the Expertise Area and the company.
· Detailed design capability of clean water pipelines and reticulation including pumpstations.

· Design of pipeline components e.g. thrust blocks, pipe supports and washouts.

· Liasing with third parties eg. highways agency, environmental and flow surveyors.

· Experience in surge analysis is advantageous.

· Experience of modelling advantageous.

· Good awareness of health and safety related issues.

· Degree in Civil Engineering.

· Chartership or working towards Chartership.
