Job Description
Job Purpose:
To fill the role as Field Engineer with our Client you must work as part of a team to deliver the Capital Programme, Connection, Maintenance and Faults within London clusters geographical area. This includes liaison with customers, network operation, networks planning and supervision of field staff and management of contractors.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Ensure high standards of safety management throughout all area of responsibility.
2. Responsibility for delivery of all construction, maintenance and fault works to time, cost and quality.
3. Ensuring staff comply with all policies and procedures and work to a high standard of quality.
4. Daily planning, co-ordination and real time responsibility for the efficient utilisation of resources in conjunction with the London Hub scheduling team.
5. Liaise with HV/LV control – submission of HV/LV switching log, complete HV/LV network operations in accordance with distribution safety rules and policies and procedures etc.
6. Support and provide technical support to field staff.
7. Manage and resolve any contract actual issues, with the support of Contract Management.
8. Produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements for the safe delivery of projects work as and when required.
9. Complete quality assurance checks of the works completed and take action to rectify any quality issues identified.
10. Liaise with and manage relationships with our customers with the aim of meeting their expectations wherever possible.
11. To be prepared to assist other sections as and when required e.g. organisational changes, system emergencies etc as determined by your skills, knowledge and experience.
12. Complete out of hours safety/emergency response (Standby) as and when required.
Nature and Scope:
The post holder will be an integral; part of the team responsible for the delivery of all Capital Programme, Connection, Maintenance and Fault work within a geographical area. In conjunction with the scheduling team, Performance Team Leader and Field Staff you will be responsible for delivering an excellent service to the customer, ensuring we meet the requirements of our Guaranteed Service Standards.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
(Essential)
Good organisational and communication skills
ONC Electrical Engineering
IT literate, including financial and work package (SAP)
Current valid driving licence
(Desirable)
LV/HV authorisation on the LPN network
NRSWA (C&G) Supervisors certificate
HNC Electrical Engineering
IOSH Managing Safely certificate
Familiarity with MS Excel spreadsheets
